Amanda is a small part of a fabulous team of volunteers at Windsor Foodshare and she was as surprised as anyone when the Prince & Princess of Wales paid a visit to Windsor Foodshare’s hub at Dedworth Green Baptist Church at the end of January. The royal couple were shown how the food bank operates, helped sort and collate donations and met with some of the volunteers. They were incredibly friendly and interested in what we all do and made everyone feel at ease – it was a great boost to the volunteers and the charity which provides such vital support to members of the local community.
The media coverage was extensive and invaluable – not only to Windsor but to other food banks across the country and highlighted that this Foodshare alone helped around 7,000 people in the last year with that number rising rapidly as the cost of living crisis bites further.
Lots more photos and information on the work that Windsor Foodshare does can be found on their website Windsor Foodshare | Loving our neighbours and any donations are gratefully received.
